Transcurrent: Where Words Converge

The driving force of Transcurrent, a literary project, is to confront Long Beach as a collection of small cities masquerading as a whole. With tectonics as our guiding icon, Transcurrent aims to both expose lesser-known talents and feature established writers through quarterly print publications, readings, and other public events, showcasing the artistic groundswell of Long Beach’s communities and cultures. Just as writers and artists will become tethered together through the Transcurrent project, so will the different genres of poetry and prose be bound by the concept of Poetics. Between its covers, Transcurrent will capture the constant evolution of Long Beach’s cultural narrative, for we believe that this literary journal will play a powerful and inspiring role in our modern city.
